I hate student loans.

I realized a few hours ago while sitting with my promo board focusing on student loans, that no one cares much about loan repayment on such a beautiful day as today. Plus no one likes to stop at promo tables anyway.

A friend of mine did stop by however, with an interesting proposition on how to pay off those loans. I do not think I will mention it here, however, it did get me thinking. Summer would be a great time to get creative and be proactive about paying back those loans.

I will certainly be hitting up Craigslist for some potential seasonal money making, working at festivals and city events perhaps. I read an article about how some people like to sell things. Chicago is a good place to sell things I think: popsicles at the beach, water bottles outside of music festivals, umbrellas on Michigan Ave during a thunder storm. I’m not really the entrepreneurial type though. Baby sitting is good though, house/pet sitting would be even better. Lots of people need their kids taken care of during the out of school months.

But anyway, next week in LPC and the following week in the Loop, look out for the Financial Fitness crew with some refreshing summer money advice and a surprise treat. Intrigued now aren’t you?
