Whether seeking a walk-in resume critique with the Peer Career Advisors, looking to get a head start on applying for an on-campus job or internship in the fall, or trying to plan or strategize for your job search, stop by the Loop or Lincoln Park offices during the summer hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Even if you’ve graduated, Career Center services are still within your reach!

  1. Graduating? There is still time to find a job–attend the Just in Time Job Fair!
On Monday, June 15, The Career Center is hosting the Just in Time Job Fair at the Lincoln Park Campus in the Student Center room 120. Don’t miss this opportunity to interact with top employers–including temporary employment agencies and post-graduation volunteer opportunities! Recruiters from a variety of industries will be seeking all majors and experience levels. This new fair is deliberately held following commencement weekend in the hopes to connect DePaul candidates to immediate opportunities. The program also includes on-site practice interviews, resume critiques, career development workshops, job search tools, and more! For more information, visit http://depaul.erecruiting.com.
  2. Meet with a career advisor–develop a job search strategy and a personal plan!
Career advisors on both campuses are here all summer long to help you in your career planning. During the school year it can be quite difficult to find a time around your busy schedule to focus your attention on your personal career plan. Because of this, the summer is a great time to consider your post-graduation future and start planning your career roadmap! Even if you’ve graduated and still need some help securing post-graduate opportunities, all career center services remain available to you for a whole year. However, there are Career Center services that become limited after one year after graduation and some that are available beyond the one year mark.
  3. Not graduating just yet? Let us help you secure an income! Looking for a summer job or internship? On-Campus Student Employment services will be standing by to help connect you to a summer job or temporary position. This could even translate into a year-long position–plan for next year! The University Internship Program and the Co-op Program are also here, ready to help you get an internship or co-op position for the summer, fall or all year long. Think about gaining academic credit in conjunction with an experience-rich internship or co-op position with these great programs.
  4. Earning extra cash this summer? Learn how to manage it!
The Financial Fitness program, conveniently located in both SAC 192 and DPC 9500, is offering a range of workshops this summer including Create Your Money Plan, Money Management 101, Managing Your Debt Load, Debt 101: Credit Card and School Loan Basics, and Post-Graduation Money Matters. Financial Fitness advisors are also available in both the Lincoln Park and Loop campuses for individual financial management appointments. Summer is a great time to earn some extra cash. Make sure it’s not for nothing!
  5. Utilize the summer months to stay sharp!

Whether seeking additional help in finding an internship or wanting to learn more about the Career Center’s many programs, look out for workshop opportunities this summer. Summer is also a great time to sharpen your skills. Learn about networking, negotiating, work values and more!
