Summer in the City (Part II)

Posted by Kate under: Kate .

The summer is easily one of the best times to establish your entertainment channels. Since school has been out, I’ve been to the beach half-a-dozen times, to friends’ apartments a few times, and the farmers market once. I’m already looking for new things to do. Since I’m only working part time, those new haunts and activities had better be budget friendly. And when I say budget friendly, I really mean free (or at least free-ish).

While borrowing DePaul internet I found a couple of good websites for exploring the city for next to nothing. This is an interesting site where Chicagoans are encouraged to share their favorite places around the city. Why not check out their suggestions and then do as the locals do? For a touristier approach check out MSN City Guides. You can plan your own city adventure. I love the feature where you can search for events by price category. Obviously I tend to favor the under $20 one.

In the spirit of giving credit where it’s due, a good friend of mine told me about this. Trust me, it’s worth a click even if you don’t consider yourself a hipster.

And by the way, you guys should let me know about your favorite Chicago activities, especially if they’re cheap. Happy hunting!
