Amanda T.
Hello, I am a senior at DePaul majoring in Communication with a minor in Spanish. Throughout the four years I have been at DePaul I have enjoyed working at the University in a variety of ways as a tour guide, Explore and Discover student mentor, STARS peer mentor, and SLI Fellow. I am currently a Peer Career Advisor and group fitness instructor at the Ray Meyer. Some of my other interests include reading, biking, listening to music, and traveling — an interest I hope to continue upon graduation.

Jorge
My name is Jorge and I am an International Studies major. I speak Spanish, French, and some Japanese pretty decently, and I love to learn about the world. I work with Financial Fitness as a Financial Peer Educator and enjoy helping others learn about ways to save money! I am also a STARS Peer Mentor within the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA).

One of my goals is to live and work in Japan as well as perfect my Japanese-language skills. On a regular basis, I love to workout, run, job hunt, and search for manners to work abroad. I am scheduled to graduate in June of 2008 and feel the need to search for diverse job opportunities in different places. I am a sucker for the international community and adore traveling.

Stephanie
Howdy. My name is Stephanie Drenka and I graduated this June from the College of Communication. My degree was in Communication and I minored in Asian American Studies and Women’s studies. I was adopted from South Korea and grew up in Dallas, Texas. I have worked in the Career Center for three years, both as a front desk receptionist and my current position, Communications Assistant. I have also been a sales and marketing intern for American Airlines. Before college, my only work experience was performing in the Crazy Horse Saloon Show at Six Flags Over Texas. My resume used to read “knows how to can-can.”

Sunia
My name is Sunia. I’m a third year student, majoring in IT and Psychology- Yeah, weird combination, I know. I work in the Financial Fitness Program of the Career and Money Management Division as a Peer Financial Educator. I’m also a S.T.A.R.S. Peer Mentor for OMSA (Office of Multicultural Student Affairs). I like to eat, shop, read and talk to strangers… Napping is starting to become a favorite hobby as well.

As far as my own money management is concerned, I’m learning the odds n ends of trying to be a student worker. Living off of that- it’s not easy! Hopefully, my rather random but interesting experiences as a financially independent newbie will help those of you in the same situations. Eventually, we won’t keep asking ourselves, what the heck does all of this mean?

Taryn
I am a graduate student in the School of Public Service and will graduate in November of 2008. I graduated from the University of Dayton in journalism with a minor in social work. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Chicago almost two years ago to attend DePaul. I had a passion for working in the nonprofit sector and was very impressed with the management training offered in the School of Public Service.

Since moving, I have had the privilege of working with The Emergency Fund, The Fairygodmother Foundation and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. As a graduate intern in the Career Center, I discovered my love of working with students. In the future I want to work in higher education, preferably directly with students.
